Your adventure begins the moment we greet you at Srinagar Airport. Enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive to Gulmarg, watching the landscape transform into a snowy paradise. Upon arrival, check into the warm and welcoming Shanu Lodge. In the evening, you'll meet your instructor, get fitted for your high-quality ski equipment, and receive a briefing about the exciting days ahead.
After a hearty breakfast, it's time to hit the snow! Your first lesson takes place on the gentle "baby slopes." Your instructor will teach you the fundamentals: how to put on your skis, find your balance, walk on snow, and make your first straight glides. It's a day of laughter, learning, and getting comfortable on your skis.
Building on yesterday's progress, you'll learn how to make basic turns (the "snowplough" or "wedge" turn) and, most importantly, how to stop! You'll spend the day practicing on gentle slopes, gaining the confidence to control your speed and direction. By the end of the day, you'll feel a real sense of accomplishment.
Today is a major milestone. You'll take the famous Gulmarg Gondola up to Phase 1 (Kongdori). The ride itself offers breathtaking views. From the top, you'll ski down the long, wide, and gentle slopes, putting all your new skills to the test in a stunning high-altitude environment. Your instructor will be right there, guiding you down safely.
This is your day to truly feel like a skier. Enjoy a full day of skiing in the Phase 1 area, exploring different runs at your own pace. Your instructor will provide tips to refine your technique and help you ski with more style and confidence. It's a day of pure freedom and exhilaration on the mountain.
Enjoy one last delicious Kashmiri breakfast at the lodge. After packing, we will drive you back to Srinagar Airport for your journey home. You'll leave not just with amazing memories and photos, but with a brand-new skill and a passion for the mountains.
Absolutely! This package is specifically designed for complete beginners. No prior experience with snow or skiing is required. We will teach you everything from scratch.
A basic level of fitness is beneficial. If you can walk for 30 minutes without getting breathless, you should be fine. Skiing uses muscles you might not be used to, but we go at a comfortable pace for everyone.
We recommend bringing thermal base layers, fleece mid-layers, warm woollen socks, a warm hat, and sunglasses. You can rent the outer waterproof ski jacket and pants in Gulmarg, and we can assist with that.
We believe in personalized attention. To ensure a quality learning experience, we keep our instructor-to-student ratio very low, typically not more than 4-6 participants per instructor.
